At the third and final planning open house/community session last Wednesday, project consultant John Slack presented four alternative designs for the redesign of Bridge Square.

  1. As President of the Northfield Garden Club I have received many comments about the plans. ALthough no one plan has been advocated, everyone has commented that perennial plantings are not sufficient. Annuals provide more color and vibrancy. Perennials bloom late and only bloom for a short time. Also, perennials do not survive well in winter in raised planters. If we want color in bridge square we are going to have to include annual plantings. Erika Tallman
